UPDATE: It seems as though Facebook terminated this experiment. Pooh.
You know what the coolest thing in the world is right now? My Facebook Page's new cover VIDEO.
If you don't have it yet, you will very, very soon. And that means you've got some planning to do, human!
Why I am I so ridiculously giddy about this? Honest - I'm not crystal clear on that yet. But, LOOK at it! It's sooooooo cool. Okay, this has clearly touched my geek buttons in their most ticklish places.
The Harbinger of Get-Your-Butt-In-Gear
When the Video Cover feature rolls itself out to your Facebook page, you'll see this delightful blue box of good news. Score!
Sweet goodness, what do you do now?
Well, friend, you've been training for this! Say what you do and why it matters in the most compelling way possible. In 90 seconds or less.
Does that sound like a tall order? Yeah, okay, it is. But there's never been a better and more immediate reason to get on that. Like now.
Break out your colored pencils and a bottle of wine. If that fails, call me, girl.
The blue box says at least 820 x 312 pixels. Minimum 20 seconds. Maximum 90 seconds.
OK, I get the time part. I don't know about you, but my video editing softwares don't measure themselves in pixels. Whatever. I just made it in 16:9.
When I uploaded the video to my Page Cover, it wasn't spot-on, but Facebook allowed me to reposition it. So, as long as your text is relatively centered. you should be fine.
The Last Frame
I intentionally put what WAS my Facebook Cover Image as the last 2-3 frames. I didn't change the dimensions, but it looks like I could have used a little more height than what the Cover Image recommends. Note taken.
Have you transitioned your Facebook Page to the Cover Video? Link it below ... I wanna see!
