It took onl y about 1 and 3/4 hours to respond to the replies, as promised, with tips tailored to their businesses.
1) make a blog post and link it with a snippet (like I'm doing right now, with this one), or
2) include it all in the email itself (even though click-through rates are invariable lower than open rates)?
Personally, I'm going with the data. Yes, the data from this totally unscientific, small-sample experiment. Because no matter how small the sample, the data comes from MY readers. And I'm going to listen!
Besides, an open rate is NOT a read rate. My people say short and sweet is what they dig.
So if you're reading THIS post, you either clicked on the email OR you're one of those awesome human beings who tends to read my blogs, anyway. (Thank you!)

In the process, I've amassed a TREASURE trove of the very best resources, tips, and ideas for creating a meaningful, successful email signup process your readers will look forward to.
I've spent the week re-thinking and re-designing my email list opt-in process, thanks to this. And to you!
Because, after all, if your readers are going to have to jump through the hoops of the double opt-in process, those hoops might as well as flaming HOT!
Add some SWAGGER to your Sundays! This is the email list you'll never want to miss.
