BUT instead of just re-tweeting or grabbing the quote for a FB caption link, I MADE IT AN IMAGE. Gave the author visual CREDIT (of course) ... tagged them, and then set it loose into the social ethers.
For example, check out this one - my FAVORITE - from a Mashable article authored by Lauren Hockenson.
Now here's a quote that merits global dissemination if I ever saw one. I loved it SO much, I got ridiculously serious about which image to choose for it.
An avid music lover and former blues-singer myself, my mind immediately went to Johnny Cash. Hockenson's brilliantly crafted sentence immediately made me imagine what Cash's label must have thought when he proposed performing and recording an album LIVE at a prison.
I can literally hear the execs say, 'But there's no new buyers at a prison." But when the Man In Black's At Fulsom Prison went gold, revived his career, and became a forever-classic, Johnny had the last word.
Y'know why? Because he spoke human. Did what HE wanted to do. And won.
No amount of market research would have backed up his gutsy move. Hockenson's read on what in the world a "thought leader" means brings that lesson fresh to us again. And now.
Yes, you can TOTALLY STEAL this great-quote-to-image idea. Take it and RUN.
But that's not all I've got for you this week!
Because "Social Listening" gets way more involved and interesting than flattering people with graphics.
Here are a couple clever ways to do it!
PINTEREST ANALYTICS. Inside your Pinterest analytics (Yes, you have those!), you can get an image-focused glance at what your followers are into.
What do you DO with all this information?
Well, you can work into the imagery on your website or blogs. You can use it to brainstorm your next product/offering. And OF COURSE ... plan some social media posts for the week that will pique the interest of your followers!
But Facebook's massive database of social behavior, purchase habits, and demographics has even MORE to tell you about your audience.
We went deep into that rabbit hole in the Free FB Targeting Demo this week.
Did you miss it? Not to worry! Just click here, sit back with your cup of coffee and prepare to have your mind blown!
