As small businesses, "Speaking Human" on social media is one of our greatest advantages.
In a world where purchases are based on consumer trust, this couldn't be more important.
There's a reason the About page is one of the most-viewed pages on a website. Psst.. Learn how to revolutionize yours here! Today, we want to know who we're working with!
Smaller business has the upper hand when it comes to getting to know our people and making it easy for them to get to know us. Because we ARE human - and often, just ONE human, reaching out from behind the screen to touch the other humans we do all this work FOR!
We're busy building relationships - not client lists. A big part of that is sharing who we are without all the spit and polish.
And perhaps nothing is more intriguing than taking a glimpse beneath the hood of another life. Peeking behind-the-scenes of how a business "works."
It's fun! And fun is what we do here, right?
THE CHALLENGE: Document a Day in Your Business Life In 15 Seconds.
Why 15 seconds? Well, for one, it's about all the attention span a lot of us have these days! But it's also the time cap on videos for Instagram :-).
Whether you work in an office, a coffee shop - or like me - in your backyard - the idea here is the same.
But the ways in which you can rise to the occasion of this challenge are literally endless!
Here are some of my favorite ideas (scroll on down for the how-to).
Let the moments fall where they may. Record what you're doing every hour on the hour from when you wake until you fall asleep again.
If you make a product, consider taking shots of the pile of what you're making - as it grows throughout the day.
If you are a blogger, you might record each part of your writing process - from jotting down ideas to hitting publish. (You could even use screenshots for this!).
If you're tech-savvy, there are countless other ways to make the magic happen. I'll leave it to you and Google search to source solutions. But the above will satisfy the needs of most without the learning curve.
Speak Human Win The Internet
Distill the ocean of social media into high-octane gulps of fun for your small business.
